Donation Center for Hurricane Helene Victims

Lebanon Fire Department is hosting a donation center for the victims of the recent disaster of Hurricane Helene. The drop-off location will be at LFD Headquarters, located at 520 Coles Ferry Pike. This location will receive donations from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM until further notice.

Please note, that while local communities appreciate the volunteer spirit during disasters and emergencies, it is important to refrain from sending resources that have not been requested by state or local authorities.

If you would like to bring donations to our upcoming picnic (10/5/24), and/or to our next post meeting (10/8/24), we’ll deliver them to the donation center.

National Emergency Fund

Since The American Legion was founded in 1919 we have been actively involved in meeting the needs of both the community and American Legion family members. In the ’20s, The American Legion entered into an agreement with The American National Red Cross, later called The American Red Coss, to assist them in disaster relief and fund raising.

The programe became known as The American Legion’s Disaster Relief Program and worked in conjuction with The Red Cross for about 50 years. Over that time, The American Legion through its many local posts assisted our Nation’s residents without housing assistance, food, supplies and cleanup after a number of major disasters.
